Corde Lisse

One Rope. No Excuses.

Enrol Now

Corde lisse is French for "smooth rope" — one thick aerial rope, no fabric, no second tail to bail into. Just you, climbing, with the strongest pull-up you've ever earned.

Rope is the original aerial apparatus. Sailors climbed it. Vaudevillians climbed it. Long before silks existed there was a strong woman or man in the troupe whose job was to make a single rope look effortless. Corde keeps that lineage alive: rougher to the skin, less forgiving, more honest. Every drop is knotted on purpose. Every climb is yours alone. The trade-off is character — corde performers walk into rooms a little bit differently.

Running for: Adults

What you'll learn

  • Climbs adapted for rope — Russian, single-foot lock, scissor
  • Meathooks and wraps that hold against the rough surface
  • Drops — hip-key drops, ankle hangs, the spectacular sailboat
  • Conditioning that builds real, no-nonsense pulling power
  • Skin care, fabric care and bruise pride (a real curriculum item)

What it builds

  • Pulling strength — corde is the most demanding aerial in the studio
  • Mental fortitude — the apparatus tells the truth
  • Grip and forearm conditioning that's transferable to literally everything
  • A respect for the older circus traditions

Good fit if…

You've spent time on silks, you love the look of pure rope work, or you want the strongest, most no-nonsense aerial training we run.
