The Hoola Hoop Scoop. November at Roundabout Circus

It's been a big few weeks at Roundabout! We’ve been in the thick of it, and I’m so proud of what our community has managed to pull together. Between shows, holiday workshops, events, and regular classes, we have created over 1000 smiles in October. Wowser!

Neverland Weekend Recap

We're just coming down from the high of our Neverland weekend . My favourite bit was watching everyone back each other through the chaos! There was a last-minute cast change, and a few health bugs our students had picked up. A big thanks to Isabelle for stepping into the role of Hook so quickly! A memory that will stay with me for a while was the puppet moment in the first show that proved the golden rule of performance: Always double-check your costume! Ask a cast member for more details if you want a giggle!

Troupe Trip to Canberra

Before Neverland, we had our troupe trip to Canberra, which we had been planning all year! It was truly inspirational to see our students thriving in the training programs and connecting with other circus troupe kids from all around Australia. We want to say a huge thank you again to everyone who supported the troupe and team in making this trip possible!

Student Spotlight: Lana

Congratulations to this month's Student Spotlight , Lana ! She brought the sass with her Puss in Boots trapeze at Bend the Air in Newcastle and took first place in the Performance Category for open apparatus. I am always a fan of more people learning to love trapeze!

Our Bunnings BBQ was a win! We raised over two thousand dollars, cooked around six hundred sausages, and had ten volunteers! A rainbow of soft drinks was enjoyed by all. Massive thanks to Hunnah, Monique, and Aaron for holding down the tongs all day! At the start of the day, I found myself spinning a string of sausages like poi because the circus doesn’t stop, even at Bunnings! And all of this on top of a Neverland show that day at circus. It was a big one!

Upcoming Events

Next up is our bake sale on 6 December! We have Rotary raffle books ready to go. Just ask us about them if you want to win $4000!

Roundabout has felt alive every day! November is another busy month. We're once again part of The Lakes Festival , with our show Splashabout Showcase next weekend and SPIRAL Coast this Sunday. Lakes Festival is celebrating 10 years, so there's lots happening all around the Central Coast! But make sure you don't miss our last big show of the year!

Glow Fest is on this weekend as well, of course! Seven of our team members are heading to the festival to teach, rig, train, and perform. Don’t worry, the rest of the classes are still happening! Students just get to meet some new, sparkly faces to teach them this weekend. We never do anything by halves! We'll share any teacher changes where needed and keep things smooth in the studio.

Thanks for showing up, for trying hard things, and for being kind! That's what keeps this place spinning!

Hello, lovely humans,Last month was World Circus Day, and we celebrated it the only way we know how. The cost of everything is up, the news is heavy, people are stretched and tired in ways that feel bigge
