When Amy started in the Cirque Possible class, she couldn’t kick up to a handstand yet. What she did have was quiet determination, perseverance and clear goals. Amy wanted to do a walkover.
With practice at home and support from her coaches, Amy’s confidence and strength continued to grow. In her own words, she knows that she takes a little longer to consistently achieve skills and this makes her more determined to practice every day. And practice she did. Her mum, Kim, said Amy would train for hours, doing drills and stretching in her room. This year, she performed in four showcase routines, including her own solo contortion act which was full of her favourite walkovers. Amy is now a regular in tumbling, aerial and contortion classes.
